Quality & Testing

The right fiber. The right tests. Confidence in every order.

Quality starts with the application. We align the specification, inspection plan and supporting documents with the way each polyester fiber will be processed and used.

Our Quality Approach

Define performance before production begins.

Fiber for an automotive needle-punched felt faces different demands from fiber for a pillow, a geotextile or a spinning line. We therefore start with the intended use, processing conditions and the customer’s acceptance criteria.

The agreed product specification sets the basis for sampling, production checks, lot identification and the documents requested for shipment. Specific test methods, limits and testing frequency are confirmed for each grade and supply program.

How we use the word “lot”: a defined production batch linked to its grade, production origin and shipment records. The agreed inspection and reporting plan determines which parameters are measured or reported for each lot.

Fiber Parameters

Tests that matter on the production line.

We select the relevant checks for the fiber type and end use, with acceptance limits agreed before supply.

01

Linear Density & Cut Length

Denier or dtex and staple length influence opening, carding, blending and the structure of the finished material.

Confirm target and tolerance by grade.
02

Tenacity & Elongation

Breaking strength and elongation at break support fiber selection for processing stability and the intended mechanical performance.

Test method and units agreed in the TDS.
03

Crimp & Finish

Crimp characteristics and oil pick-up or spin-finish level can affect cohesion, carding behavior, friction and downstream consistency.

Check against the approved processing target.
04

Thermal Behavior

Shrinkage, heat response and, for applicable bicomponent fibers, bonding temperature are assessed against the customer’s process conditions.

Specify temperature, dwell time and method.
05

Color & Appearance

Shade, whiteness, visible contamination and fiber uniformity are evaluated against the agreed grade and reference sample.

Especially relevant for black and color grades.
06

Packing & Traceability

Bale condition, labeling and lot identification support receiving inspection and repeat-order comparison.

Documentation matched to the shipment.

Automotive Applications

Qualification guided by the component and OEM specification.

For headliners, parcel shelves, trunk liners, carpets and acoustic insulation, we review the requirements of the actual part and its production process. The test plan may cover the fiber, the converted material or the finished component.

Odour & Emissions

Odour evaluation may follow VDA 270. VOC or organic emissions may be measured by a customer-approved method such as VDA 278. Results are compared with specified limits; “odour-free” is not used as an unqualified claim.

Flammability & Fogging

Automotive interior materials may be tested for burning behaviour to FMVSS 302 / ISO 3795 and fogging to the applicable OEM method, such as DIN 75201, where required.

Heat, Light & Wear

Dimensional stability, colorfastness, UV exposure, abrasion and pilling are assessed when relevant to the converted material and component specification. Heat exposure and shrinkage use the agreed temperature and dwell time.

Supplier Quality System

For an automotive program, we review the production site’s documented quality system and any customer requirement for ISO 9001 or IATF 16949. Certification is stated only when a valid site certificate covers the supplier.

Testing on request: the sample format, laboratory, standard edition, frequency, acceptance limits, lead time and cost are agreed before testing. Fiber-level results do not automatically qualify a converted automotive part.

Geotextile Applications

Fiber consistency behind measurable fabric performance.

For road construction, drainage, separation and protection, fiber selection starts with strength, elongation, cut length, durability and stable processing. Finished geotextiles must then be qualified to their own application requirements.

Tensile & Puncture

Wide-width tensile behaviour (ISO 10319) and static puncture resistance (ISO 12236) are tests of the manufactured geotextile. Fiber tenacity and elongation are controlled separately to the agreed fiber specification.

Filtration & Water Flow

Characteristic opening size (ISO 12956) and permeability normal to the plane (ISO 11058) describe the finished geotextile structure, not an individual staple fiber.

Tear & Durability

Tear, UV exposure and chemical-resistance requirements are selected according to the final product’s design life, installation conditions and project specification.

European Project Documentation

Where a finished geotextile falls under an applicable harmonised EN 13249–EN 13257 standard, its manufacturer addresses the relevant Declaration of Performance and CE marking requirements.

Important distinction: polyester staple fiber is an input to the geotextile. CE marking of a finished geotextile, or validation under an infrastructure program such as NTPEP, does not transfer automatically to the fiber.

Certification & Evidence

Claims supported by the right documents.

Certification is verified for the specific product, production site, seller and shipment route before it is included in a quotation.

OEKO-TEX®
STANDARD 100
Textile Safety

Product-specific verification

For eligible certified grades, STANDARD 100 addresses harmful substances in textiles. We confirm the certificate number, validity, product class and exact product scope before making a certified-product claim.

The authorized label may be displayed here after the certificate and label-use rights are confirmed.

GRS
Global Recycled Standard
Recycled Content

Traceable certified supply

For GRS-certified grades, we verify applicable scope certificates and transaction documentation for the relevant supply chain and shipment. Recycled content alone does not establish GRS certification or quantify carbon savings.

The authorized logo may be displayed here after certificate scope and claims approval are confirmed.

Other site-level systems, such as ISO 14001 or ISO 45001, and declarations concerning REACH substances are discussed when applicable to the chosen production origin. They are not represented as certifications held by every fiber grade. RoHS is relevant only where the customer’s final electrical or electronic product requires it.

From Trial to Repeat Supply

A clear quality route for every program.

STEP 01

Define

Review end use, process, target specification and required test methods.

STEP 02

Qualify

Arrange a representative sample and application-specific testing where agreed.

STEP 03

Document

Identify the production lot and prepare the agreed test report or certificate of analysis, together with applicable certification and shipment documents.

STEP 04

Improve

Compare processing feedback with the agreed specification and use it to plan repeat orders.
