ÖZEL AMAÇLI POLYESTER KESİK ELYAF
Virgin veya Geri Dönüştürülmüş Hidrofobik Elyaf
Polyester staple fiber specified for controlled water-repellent behavior in selected nonwoven and technical textile applications. We define the fiber, finish and validation plan around your production process and the performance required in your finished material.
MALZEME
Hydrophobic by nature. Specified for your application.
Conventional PET has relatively low affinity for water, but the behavior of a finished nonwoven cannot be predicted from the polymer name alone. Spin finish, fiber fineness, web density, bonding and material construction all affect how water meets the surface and whether it passes through.
We define hydrophobic polyester staple fiber around the required surface behavior, opening and carding performance, bonding method and end use. Where enhanced repellency is needed, the finish and finished-material test target become part of the specification.
Surface wetting
Does water bead on the material, or does it spread and wet the surface? This describes water repellency at the surface.
Water penetration
Can water pass through the complete material under the specified conditions? This is a separate property of the finished construction.
Fiber Routes
Choose the route that fits your process.
A naturally low-wetting PET surface and an application-specific water-repellent finish are different starting points. We establish the appropriate route against the intended construction and test target.
Controlled hydrophobic behavior
We select fiber geometry and a processing finish for the required opening, carding and bonding performance while evaluating the water behavior of the finished material.
Performance confirmed for the selected grade and construction.Enhanced water repellency
Where the application calls for a stronger surface-repellency target, we specify a compatible hydrophobic finish. Its effect on processing, hand feel and durability is assessed during trials.
Finish chemistry and target result confirmed before supply.Hydrophobic means water-repellent behavior. It does not automatically mean waterproof or oil-repellent. Any such requirement needs a separate specification and relevant finished-material testing.
HAMMADDE KAYNAĞI
Virgin or recycled PET, qualified by grade.
Raw material origin, fiber specifications, finish compatibility and documentation are defined together. Availability is confirmed for the exact grade before quotation.
Virgin hydrophobic option
We define denier, cut length, crimp, finish and target water behavior around the customer's nonwoven or textile process.
Specification and trial requirements agreed by application.Recycled hydrophobic option
We evaluate the proposed finish and process performance together with recycled content, traceability and the required documentation.
Any GRS claim requires an eligible grade and shipment documents.Application Areas
Build the fiber around the material you produce.
Suitability depends on the complete nonwoven or textile structure. We agree the required water behavior and processing method before proposing a fiber grade for trials.
Technical nonwovens
Define surface wetting and processing requirements for selected carded, needlepunched or bonded nonwoven structures.
Automotive & acoustic layers
Evaluate moisture exposure, fiber finish, dimensional behavior and the applicable requirements of the finished component.
Layered hygiene materials
Use water-repellent behavior only where the specified layer is intended to limit wetting or liquid passage. Confirm the performance of the complete multilayer construction.
Industrial & protective textiles
Define the desired surface behavior, use conditions and durability before choosing the fiber and finished-material test plan.
PERFORMANS DOĞRULAMASI
Test the property you intend to claim.
We agree relevant methods and acceptance criteria with your technical team. Fiber trials establish process compatibility; finished-material tests establish the end-use result.
Water repellency
Assess resistance to surface wetting on the finished fabric or nonwoven. ISO 4920 or AATCC TM22 may be considered when suitable for the construction.
Water penetration
If a barrier result is required, evaluate the complete material separately. ISO 811 may be considered for hydrostatic-pressure testing where appropriate.
Compatibility & retention
Review fiber opening, web formation, bonding and finish behavior. For washable products, compare performance before and after an agreed laundering procedure.
The listed methods test finished textile materials; they are not certifications of the loose fiber. Test selection and target values depend on the customer's product and agreed specification.

İHTİYACINIZDAN BAŞLAYALIM
What should your finished material do with water?
Send your application, production method, virgin or recycled preference, target fiber specification, water-repellency requirement, washing requirement if applicable, expected volume and destination. We will define a suitable grade and sample plan.
Hydrophobic polyester fiber engineered by clover® delivers advanced water-repellent performance for technical nonwovens, industrial filtration media, and protective textiles. Specifically designed to prevent water absorption and liquid penetration while preserving breathability, mechanical strength, and fiber resilience, this specialty polyester staple fiber maintains long-lasting dimensional stability across demanding production environments.
Technical Specifications & Applications for Hydrophobic Polyester Fiber
Depending on specific processing needs, we supply both virgin and recycled grades with linear densities from 1.2D to 15D and staple lengths between 32mm and 102mm. For needle-punched geotextiles, automotive interior felts, roofing underlays, and specialized filtration media, our hydrophobic finish ensures long-lasting liquid repellency and chemical resistance.
Processing, Blending & Production Versatility
When manufacturing thermobonded nonwovens, our hydrophobic fibers work seamlessly when blended with our Virgin & Recycled BiCo Low Melt Fiber to form rigid, moisture-resistant matrix structures without losing tensile strength. If your manufacturing facility also requires moisture-wicking and fluid absorption properties for hygiene, sanitary pads, or cleaning wipes, explore our complementary Hidrofilik Polyester Elyaf solutions.
Additionally, our converter tow production can be converted into high-tenacity tops for specialized technical yarn spinning. We supply raw white, optical white, and dope-dyed black variants tailored to specific UV and outdoor performance criteria across international nonwoven markets.
Each batch undergoes stringent laboratory testing for moisture regain, water contact angle, finish level (OPU), and tensile strength to guarantee consistent processability on carding machines.
All production batches are manufactured under rigorous quality controls conforming to international ISO Standards. Learn more about our global trade capabilities via Clover or contact our technical sales team directly to request custom technical data sheets (TDS) and export container allocations.
